Plenty On The Line This Sunday At Payne Park

There is plenty on the line this Sunday at Payne Park, when Bunbury host Donnybrook in round nineteen of the Dale Alcock Homes South West, SWFL premiership season.

Bunbury are coming off a 61 point loss to South Bunbury last Sunday, while Donnybrook are coming off a win over Busselton.

Although Bunbury are firmly entrenched in second place they would love to take winning form into finals, which would include defeating Donnybrook and then Augusta Margaret River at Gloucester Park in the final round.

For Donnybrook though, a win is paramount, with the Dons in fifth place, with Carey Park one game behind in sixth place.  Should the Dons lose, they will need to beat Carey Park in the final round to ensure they play finals. If the Dons were to beat Bunbury they will finish fifth at worst, if Carey Park lost to the Tigers on Saturday, shutting the door on any challenge.

In a crazy finish to the season, it is still possible for Donnybrook to finish third, ahead of HBL and AMR, with the Dons currently having the third best percentage in the competition, that would require them to beat Bunbury and Carey Park, hope that HBL lose to either Eaton or South Bunbury, and AMR to lose either to Busselton or Bunbury.

With fine weather expected for the White Ribbon Round match, a big crowd is expected as the penultimate round tries to sort out who will play finals in 2024.
