Bunbury and Busselton will play in the Get Careers Colts Elimination Final on Sunday at Hands Memorial Oval, with the loser finished for season 2026.
The form team in the Colts competition is undoubtedly Busselton, having won their last ten matches, with their last loss on 23 May 2026 by four points to Carey Park. Prior to that the Magpies lost two other games by two points and one point, and still incredibly finished fifth, mainly due to losing their first four matches. Since the loss to Carey Park, the Magpies have defeated three of the finalists, Augusta Margaret River (6 points), Harvey Brunswick Leschenault (6 points) and South Bunbury (15 points). The only side they haven’t defeated is Bunbury who defeated them in round two.
Bunbury have had a much rockier road to the finals, winning only three of their last six matches.
The Bulldogs started brilliantly last weekend against South Bunbury but were over-run. They played on Hands Oval only seven days ago, and that may become and advantage.
The top two goal kickers in the competition will go head to head, with Bunbury’s Dylan Brown having kicked 52 goals at one end, while Tienen Murphy will be at the other having kicked 46 goals, with Murphy kicking all of his goals since round eight.
Bunbury have dominated recent encounters between the two teams, winning thirteen of the last fifteen matches. The last time Busselton defeated Bunbury was in the 2020 Colts Grand Final.
The winner will advance to play the loser of South Bunbury and Harvey Brunswick Leschenault in the First Semi Final.,
