Panthers Too Strong In Reserves Qualifier

Carey Park have defeated South Bunbury on Saturday afternoon at the Boyanup Oval in the Qualifying Final, defeating the Tigers by 54 points.

In a sometimes spiteful encounter, the Panthers proved too strong for the Tigers, with Jordan Wallam outstanding for Carey Park, kicking six goals.

The match started with a free kick before the match had even started, which led to an early goal to Fabian Hart.   Jordan Wallam would then have a purple patch kicking two goals in quick succession to give the Panthers a 17 point lead at the first change.

Things didn’t look good for the Tigers when Blake Helgeland kicked a goal against the breeze to extend the margin further, and when Eli Hill chipped in with a soccer goal, the Panthers led by five goals.  Morgan Lane would mark in the goal square to give the Tigers their first goal of the match, just before half time.

The second half belonged to the Panthers and to Wallam who kicked three more goals, as the Panthers advance to a Second Semi Final showdown with Harvey Brunswick Leschenault (Venue & Date to be confirmed).   South Bunbury will play the winner of Eaton and Bunbury, who play tomorrow.   The Tigers score is the lowest score in a Reserves Final since 2008 when Carey Park kicked seven behinds in a Preliminary Final.
