Busselton have defeated Augusta Margaret River on Saturday afternoon at Sir Stewart Bovell Park, in round fifteen of the Dale Alcock Homes South West, South West Football League season.
The Magpies remain undefeated after winning the Southern Derby in front of a big crowd, who witnessed the might of Busselton who kept Augusta Margaret River goal-less after half time.
In a tight opening term which say the Hawks lead early, Busselton gained the ascendancy late in the quarter to lead by six points at quarter time.
That momentum continued into the second quarter, with Mitchell Tenardi dominating through the centre, and Tony Notte seemingly able to stop every forward thrust by the Hawks.
Leading by nineteen points at the half time break, Busselton would systematically break the Hawks down, keeping the visitors from scoring at all in the third term, while conceding just three behinds in the final quarter.
Tony Notte was outstanding for Busselton, and Ryan Ekert up-forward played well kicking three goals, with Zac Dronow amongst the best for the Hawks.
With the Nutrien Ag Country Championships next weekend, both teams will have the general bye, with Busselton scheduled to face Eaton, while the Hawks will face Carey Park at Kelly Park.
