Lions And Tigers To Kick Off Finals

Harvey Brunswick Leschenault and South Bunbury will start the South West Football League finals series, when they play in the Get Careers Colts Qualifying Final, at Sir Stewart Bovell Park on Saturday.

The two sides met just five weeks ago at Brunswick Oval with the young Lions winning by seven points.  On that day the Lions started strongly only to be pegged back by the Tigers in the second half.

Both sides have been in strong form, both winning five of their last six matches, with the Tigers last loss at the hands of the Lions in round sixteen, while Busselton defeated the Lions by six points in round eighteen.

Mason Bubb and Cody Matthews have combined to kick fifty one goals between them for the Lions, while Eamon Ramsay has kicked forty five goals for the season, highlighted by fourteen goals against the Bulls.

Both sides have strong midfields, and are both defensively sound making for a great contest to start the finals.

The two sides last played in a final in 2023, when the Lions defeated South Bunbury by five points in a first semi final, with the previous match to that way back in 2017, when HBL defeated South Bunbury in a preliminary final by thirty points.

The Lions have won the last six contests against South Bunbury, with the margins this season being seven and ten points.
