Harvey Brunswick Leschenault and Bunbury will play at Sir Stewart Bovell Park on Saturday afternoon, in the Tronox Women’s Qualifying Final.
The Lions will be looking to create history by winning their first ever final, having played in four previous finals, losing all of them, one to Bunbury in 2019, the only time they have met in the finals.
The Lions have had a stellar season, finishing the home and away season in second place, with twevle victories while Bunbury finished third with eleven wins.
Both sides play a free-flowing style of play, with both teams capable of kicking big scores, with Daisy Rigby at one end for Bunbury, while Emma Faulkner has dominated the Lions forward line this season, kicking twenty five goals. Rigby is the leagues second all time highest goal kicker, only behind Beth Bond and will need to be watched closely, as Rigby possesses the ability to kick a chain of goals in quick succession.
Georgia Mahony, Caitlin Ward and Chantelle Hannagan have all been playing well for Bunbury and their influence will need to be curtailed, while Trinity Brown is having another excellent season, as is Larissa Tartaglia, two players Bunbury will need to keep quiet if they are to take victory on Saturday.
The winner will play Busselton in a Second Semi Final, while the loser will play either Donnybrook or Carey Park in a First Semi Final.
