Bunbury Defeat Eaton In High Scoring Shootout

Bunbury have defeated Eaton at Glen Huon Reserve on Sunday afternoon, in a high scoring shoot-out in the last game of round seven of the SWFL.

The opening quarter was goal for goal, with Eaton leading early before Bunbury took the lead late in the opening term.  Joel Houghton who was returning to his own stomping ground was being a menace up forward and ended the match with six goals.

Eaton started strongly in the second quarter taking back the lead, only for some late goals to Bunbury, putting the lead back in their favour at half time to the tune of 18 points.

Bunbury opened the margin further in the third term, kicking five goals to three to take a 32 point advantage into the final quarter, which belonged to Eaton.  The Boomers had ten scoring shots in the final term, missing some golden opportunities to narrow the margin further, but ran out of time, with the Bulldogs winning by 14 points.

The Boomers will host Collie Eagles in round eight on Sunday, while Bunbury will host Donnybrook also on Sunday.
