Bunbury have kept their Reserves season alive, when they defeated Eaton in the Solahart Reserves Elimination Final on Sunday afternoon, at PC Payne Park in front of a big crowd.
Bunbury set up their victory with four unanswered goals in the opening quarter with Cameron Lamonaca converting a set shot. Hayden Gregory was on the end of a full length play to score the home sides second goal before Lamonaca goaled again to give the Bulldogs the perfect start.
Eaton scored their first goal early in the second term through Kade O’Dine who was getting plenty of possessions, and when Josh Kelly received a free kick and converted the margin was back to two goals. A late goal to Bunbury opened the margin again, with Bunbury 19 points in front at half time.
Ryan Babich extended the Bunbury lead at the start of the third term, with Bunbury having all the answers, despite the best efforts of Kade O’Dine who played an excellent game. Cameron Bennell would kick a late goal for the Boomers to give them a glimmer of hope in the final term, but Bunbury kicked the opening goal of the last term, to snuff out any serious challenge from the Boomers.]
Eaton officially finish fifth in the Reserves competition, while Bunbury will play South Bunbury next weekend in a first semi final. (Date and Venue to be confirmed)
