As an exclusive to the SWFL Website, we will look back every Tuesday to the current round of football from the past. In this edition, we look at Round Four 2007, where there were four games played, with the match of the round being second placed Donnybrook, taking on third placed Bunbury.
The game didn’t disappoint, with Donnybrook getting home by just one point, after Bunbury led by four goals at the first break. Undefeated Harvey Brunswick Leschenault easily accounted for Collie Eagles, South Bunbury won their first game of the season, kicking four goals to one in the final quarter to down Margaret River, while Busselton kept Eaton without a win, keeping the Boomers scoreless in the opening term, while kicking six straight themselves at the Boomers home ground.
Chris Maguire of Bunbury and Marty Atkins (38 years of age) of Donnybrook had already kicked 14 Goals each, but it would be Shane Nani of Carey Park who had seven goals to this point, who would go on to win the Goal Kicking award in 2007 with 62 goals
As we look at the extended results, there are some interesting names that appear, some still playing, some have transferred clubs, some went on to bigger things and some now in coaching roles.
