Lane Kicks Six In Tigers Victory

Tyson Lane kicked six goals in South Bunbury’s victory over Eaton at Glen Huon Reserve, in round six of the Dale Alcock Homes South West, South West Football League season.

Taj Marshall would kick the opening goal of the match for Eaton, but that then started a flurry of goals from the Tigers, with Kade Wallrodt and Blaine Johnson kicking two each in the matter of seven minutes as South Bunbury opened up an eighteen point advantage.  A further goal to Toby Hawkins extended the margin further before Ben McGuire kicked Eaton’s second goal right on the quarter time siren.

The match was won in the second quarter, with the Tigers kicking five consecutive goals to have a 49 point lead nearing half time, with Josh Warren kicking the Boomers third goal, a minute before half time.

The third term belonged to Tyson Lane, kicking a further three goals to put the game beyond doubt, with the visitors leading by 49 points at the final break.

Eaton to their credit never gave up, and outscored the Tigers in the final term, kicking four goals to two, which made the final margin 38 points.  Aside from Lane, Johnson and Wallrodt who combined to kick thirteen of the Tigers sixteen goals, Nathan Murray got plenty of possessions for South Bunbury, who will play Carey Park next Saturday.   Eaton meanwhile, were well served by James Ewing and Brendan Stemp and will play Donnybrook in round seven.
