Magpies Looking To Extend Winning Run

Busselton will be looking to continue their undefeated winning streak on Sunday, when they play Augusta Margaret River at Sir Stewart Bovell Park in round twelve of the Dale Alcock Homes South West, Premiership Season.

The Magpies have been superb through the opening round, not losing a game, with the first of those against the Hawks back in March at Gloucester Park by 13 points, in a match most pundits expected the Hawks to win.

From that point on, the Magpies have systematically defeated every team in the competition, with both Carey Park and Harvey Brunswick Lescheanult losing by nine points, as the closest any team has got to the black and whites.  Both of those matches were low scoring affairs, but invariably if Busselton score more than twelve goals they win by a big margin.

Liam Creighton who was the dominant forward for Busselton in the opening rounds where he kicked 16 goals in four weeks, has been quiet by his standards, but Beau Chinnery last weekend kicked five goals giving Busselton another focal point up forward.

Austin Styles (pictured), Mitch Tenardi, Jackson Arbon and Damian Lee have all been playing good football and all played well against Collie last Sunday, where the Magpies won by 55 points.

Augusta Margaret River continue to struggle with long term injuries, with the two time premiers having played 42 players in their League team this season already, testing the depth of the club.  It could be as late as August before the Hawks potentially get their full squad back together, by with time, they maybe too far back to have a tilt at a triple premiership.

Although soundly beaten by Donnybrook last Saturday, you can never under estimate the Hawks who still have very good players in the team, with arguably the best full back in Linc Adams, two time Hayward Medalist Simon Moore and Seve Grantis playing well.

The Magpies will start favourites in the Busselton Toyota Cup, but the Hawks will be looking to fly under the radar to take the win and get their season back on track.
