Tigers To Face Dons In Match Of The Round

South Bunbury will face Donnybrook in round five of the Dale Alcock Homes South West, South West Football League season, at Hands Oval this Sunday afternoon, in what is an eagerly awaited contest, between two teams in good form.

South Bunbury are undefeated and sit second on the ladder, while Donnybrook have two wins and two losses from their four matches to start the season.

The Tigers prevailed in round one by a point over Carey Park, and by seven points over Augusta Margaret River in round three, before recording an 86 point win over Dunsborough.  The Dons also won in round one by 17 points, before a shock loss to Dunsborough by three points, and a 35 point loss to Bunbury, before finding plenty of form last Sunday when they comprehensively defeated Harvey Bulls by 103 points.

Both teams have plenty of players in good form which automatically makes for a good contest, and both sides have forwards in good form.  Blaine Johnson leads the competitions goal scoring with 16 goals from three games, while Zac Trigwell sits second with eleven goals.

Kevin Chitty, Mitch Bain, Ben Horsman and Tom Gorter have all been in good form this season, as has Sam Perkusich, Ben Frazer, Jordan Falco and Nathan McCosker for the Dons, all experienced players.

The Tigers have won 23 consecutive games, and are now just three games shy of equalling the all time record which they jointly hold with Harvey Brunswick Leschenault.

A key to a Tigers victory will be to fix their starts, having conceded the first five goals against Carey Park, and the first two against both the Hawks and Sharks, but in all, the Tigers were able to peg back the deficit to win.  The Dons will be aware of this and maybe a key to victory on Sunday.

The match will be broadcast on SEN Spirit 621am & 1494am along with live streamed on the SEN App and will also be live scored on playhq.
