Tigers To Take On Dons At Hands Oval

The opening match of round twelve of the Dale Alcock Homes South West, SWFL premiership season will be between South Bunbury and Donnybrook at Hands Memorial Oval on Saturday afternoon.

Round twelve is Indigenous Round, supported by Alcoa, with both teams having proud Indigenous heritage, which will be on display throughout the four matches played.

The last time the two teams meet, South Bunbury would take the win by 44 points at Boyanup Oval, with the Tigers having won the last six contests between the two sides.

South Bunbury are fresh from the bye and sit on top of the ladder undefeated, while Donnybrook are fourth, one of three teams on six wins.

With a general bye for the Nutrien Ag Country Championships next weekend and with fine weather expected, the match promises to be a highly skilled affair, with neither team likely to leave anything on the table.   The Dons particularly will be looking to take the four points, not only to be the first team to down the Tigers this season, but also to remain in the five going forward.  A loss will potentially put the team fifth at the end of the round if the Hawks beat the Boomers, and then equal with Busselton (bye) and possibly Carey Park should they beat Collie on Sunday.

Both teams have skilled midfields, and both are capable of scoring heavily, and the Dons have proven recently they can win against all odds, making this an intriguing contest.

The League match starts at 2.45pm after a ceremony marking the Indigenous Round.  The match ball will be presented to the best player on the ground.
